About
A new venture for me expanding from the world of fotopic. Fotopic will still go on so fear not it still has priorty. I always like to put some detail so it has some relevance. So where does it go? I don’t know really. Let’s see how this goes.
Illustrated one of my favourite vehicles from London United should I say Transdev. VA46, R946YOV which started life on the 281 and has lived at FW ever since. It’s duties are London United’s Commerical fleet, so they are still going strong. You should see one or two VA’s on the rail replacement at White City. I do miss these vehicles from normal service, they haven’t served London long enough but saying that we are a city of progress. The remaining Volvo Olympians are with the Commerical fleet for Private Hire, Rail jobs, Wembley and Twickenham events. A couple are the training fleet. While the rest have been cascaded out of London to start a new life, the bulk are in Leeds with First Yorkshire, with a couple in Ireland for Dualway and a couple are floating around with various independents. It’s a shame these vehicles were not in London any longer but new buses have ousted these out which is a plus. London is a thriving city and the bus operations are a high standard and operators need to comply with the passengers and TFL needs. It’s a successful unit TFL compared to other parts of the country and there is no doubt London is an interesting city for buses.
Back to me anyways, I have been interested in buses since I was a child. They always intregued me, I cannot answer why they just do. The hobby is portayed as some odd ball hobby well it has some oddballs but the positives have a lot of sound people in the hobby. Some work industry, some don’t (like myself). I started taking pictures around 2005, pretty late really I wish I could turn the clock back 10 years and wish I had the camera to take pictures of the 80′s and 90′s era. A lot of variety and things I can remember. I don’t regret how far I have got, as I have worked hard to produce quality photos of high quality, a successful fotopic site which has got me where I am with many people visiting to see what I have done. Fotopic to me is a diary and it is great to have positive feedback from the viewers. I have been successful to have pictures in LOTs, Classic Buses, Routemaster Association Magazine and other fotopic sites. I hope to be looked upon as approachable, fair, open minded in this “blog”. More importantly the readers enjoy reading this. Please tell me if something is wrong, I am only human! So be gentle!
Thanks for reading
Terry.
